About Ms. GrimmMy name is Heather Grimm, and I am the 8th grade science teacher here at ASU Preparatory Academy. I am so excited to work with you this year in expanding our knowledge and critical thinking skills through project-based learning, labs, individual assessments and collaborative assignments. We will strive to connect math, reading, writing and speaking throughout the class – as science does not exist in a vacuum, neither shall we!
I was born and raised here in the valley, and while my military service has had me traveling, I have now found my way back home. I am passionate about sharing my love of science with students. My inspiration comes from raising my two daughters, and my hope that they, as well as my students, will learn to see the beauty and wonder in the world around them, as I have. I do work with a service dog, Malcolm; typically he spends his time napping quietly in the corner. I establish a rapport with my students by overviewing what a service animal’s purpose is and the proper etiquette when working around them, as well as the specifics of Malcolm joining us in our classroom. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I look forward to working together to make the most of this school year! |
